Everyone loves Panda Bear
There are a number of highly anticipated album releases to get us started in the next decade. But I’d have to say Panda Bear’s forthcoming album probably ranks at or near the top.
AKA Noah Lennox, Panda Bear’s Person Pitch is showing up in a lot of best-of-the-aughts lists, and Animal Collective’s Merriweather Post Pavillion should be voted best album of this year. Person Pitch obviously set the tone for Merriweather.
In a recent interview Lennox describes the new album: “It’s a very electronic sound and very voice heavy. A simple arrangement of drums, the guitar and singing. Really there are only two or three elements to every song. It’s pretty raw sounding for better for worse.
“The tone is a lot darker (than Person Pitch) and it sounds sort of dramatic or romantic to me.”
Adding to the suspense: No one’s heard it.
