You weren’t there? Well, Naked Raygun, other Chicago punks reunite for show tonight

The documentary You Weren’t There: A History of Chicago Punk 1977-1984 is pretty instructive for those of us who indeed weren’t around to enjoy those early days. The movie is also a lot of fun to watch.

Some of the bands featured in the movie (Naked Raygun, Subverts, Articles of Faith, Silver Abuse) are playing the Double Door tonight as part of Riot Fest. Tonight’s theme is Busted at Oz, the name of a comp album recorded at a former legendary Chicago punk club in the early ’80s. Tonight’s sold-out show features a mostly original lineup of Naked Raygun. Unfortunately, Effigies had to cancel.

Check out the trailer for You Weren’t There below.
