Check out this new song, Hawk Highway, from Cymbals Eat Guitars. These guys sounded like Pavement on their last album, Lenses Alien. They sound like Superchunk on this song.
At 90 bucks a day (for the poor people), the festival is still too pricey. Trying to pass off Soundgarden as a headliner is a joke. And the ridiculous restrictions on bands playing alternative venues before or after the big fest is out of hand.
That said, there is a good lineup of music for those who want to spend up Friday. I can’t think of any other venue where I can see Mavis Staplesand the Fuck Buttons on the same ticket.
